| John Bates has carved a unique niche for himself
in the real estate industry by becoming a leader in sales of land deals
between developers
and farmers. With Chicagoland ever expanding westward and
southward, Bates has been working with farmers in the fringe areas to best market
their land to developers.
He does this by playing up the property’s most attractive attributes, such as
its proximity to major roads, the quality of its soil or the number of homes
or businesses that could be built on it. When a farmer is
interested in selling, Bates sees the development through until the new owners
have moved in. For example, he sells the land to the developers and then works
with the builders to effectively sell the new homes.
He is thoroughly involved with the property from start to finish, working to
satisfy the parties involved. His real estate expertise and unconventional business
strategy have garnered considerable media attention.
Bates has been interviewed on Chicagoland radio, in local newspapers and in national
and regional magazines. Bates works out of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
office in Naperville and has handled a number of land deals in the west and southwest
suburbs over the past year. He had a total sales volume in 2003 of $166,045,757.00.
Some of his most recent subdivisions that have garnered praise and awards are:
- Grande Park - 880 acres
- Heritage Oaks - 120 acres
- Prairie Ponds - 74 acres
Bates continues to actively work to put together small and large land assemblages for residential and
commercial development. Currently Bates has over 10,000 single family residential lots coming on line with the developers that he
has been actively working with.
